N.D. 2019 Corn, Sunflower Harvests Still Underway

For the month of February 2020, topsoil moisture supplies rated 0 percent very short, 1 short, 65 adequate, and 34 surplus, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 0 percent very short, 1 short, 67 adequate, and 32 surplus.

Winter wheat condition rated 0 percent very poor, 1 poor, 16 fair, 75 good, and 8 excellent.

Corn harvested was 61 percent.

Sunflowers harvested was 79 percent.

Cattle and calf conditions rated 1 percent very poor, 3 poor, 13 fair, 72 good, and 11 excellent. Cattle and calf death loss rated 2 percent heavy, 75 average, and 23 light. Calving progress was 9 percent complete.

Sheep and lamb conditions rated 1 percent very poor, 3 poor, 17 fair, 70 good, and 9 excellent. Sheep and lamb death loss rated 3 percent heavy, 75 average, and 22 light. Lambing progress was 20 percent complete. Shearing progress was 35 percent complete.

Hay and roughage supplies rated 4 percent very short, 22 short, 64 adequate, and 10 surplus.

Stock water supplies rated 0 percent very short, 1 short, 77 adequate, and 22 surplus.

The next monthly report (for March) will be issued March 30, 2020. Weekly reports will begin April 6th for the 2020 season.
