Burgum Issues Statement on F-M Diversion Authority's New Permit Vote

Gov. Doug Burgum released the following statement after the Fargo-Moorhead Diversion Board of Authority voted unanimously to accept all recommendations from the F-M Area Flood Diversion Task Force formed by Burgum and Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton and officially submit a new permit application to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

"We are encouraged by the collaborative approach the Diversion Authority has taken to submit a new permit application for review," Burgum said. "Today's vote demonstrates that with strong communication and a common goal, we can work together to achieve permittable flood protection for the greater F-M area. We appreciate the partnership with Governor Dayton, mayors Mahoney and Williams, and many other community leaders and look forward to continuing our shared commitment to this project."
