Produced Water Spill in Mountrail County
North Dakota Ag Connection - 10/20/2016

The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) has been notified of a produced water spill resulting from equipment failure in Mountrail County at a site operated by 1804 Operating, LLC.

The spill occurred on Tuesday, approximately 7 miles northeast of New Town.

Initial estimates indicate approximately 150 barrels of produced water were released. Of this, a small amount of the total volume left the well pad and impacted a coulee north of the location.

Personnel from the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division and the NDDoH are in transit to inspect the site. NDDoH and North Dakota Oil and Gas personnel will continue to monitor the investigation and remediation.
